Product Development - Too Cool for Stool

Too Cool For Stool is a product born from the mother of invention: necessity!

I am the proud father of two children, and when they were younger they needed a stool in order to reach the bathroom faucet when washing their hands. This was no problem in our upstairs bathroom that had plenty of room for a stool to sit in front of the sink. However, our downstairs half-bathroom, measuring in at a whopping 25 square feet, didn't have room for the door to open AND have a stool in front of the sink. (Or anywhere else, for that matter!) We had a decision to make: We could either have a stool in our bathroom or we could have a door in our bathroom. I, for one, am glad we chose to have the door!

That decision, however, still left us with the problem of having no room for a stool, so I developed a solution that would allow my children to wash their hands without needing me to hold them up to the sink.

Too Cool For Stool (TCFS) is a folding stool that neatly tucks away under your bathroom vanity or kitchen cabinet. When in use, it rests upon two solid legs and safely supports even a grown adult. When not in use, it folds up snugly with the inside of your vanity door, which then closes, hiding the stool until its next use.

Not only did I design the product, but I selected all the associated materials and hardware. lastly, I fabricated a TCFS prototype and installed it in my bathroom vanity. I'm proud to say that it worked perfectly!
